This past winter I designed and constructed a stereo vacuum tube amplifier based off of the TubeLab SimpleSE design. Since many people asked about it at Maker Faire Detroit, I thought I would post a link to the build photos and some more details. Check out the build album below!
Some more technical details:
- Preamp: GE 12at7
- Power Tubes: RCA 6v6
- Rectifier: RCA 5u4gb
- Output Transformers: Edcor GXSE15-8-5K
- Power Transformer: Edcor XPWR002
All other components are pretty much standard and are listed in the TubeLab SSE bill of materials.
Nice work! Thanks for sharing.
Really cool looking amp. I built a 6V6 based SSE several years ago and it sounded quite nice.
Not an AVR, but there will be some Teensy meets vacuum tubes projects coming in the future.
Glad you like it! Thanks for sharing the SSE design, it was a great first amp to build. Looking forward to whatever tube project you come up with next.
